Homes of Discipleship, Miracles, and Outreach (HDMO) – A “Shape of Revival” From Home to Home

SHARE

Homes of discipleship copy the life, words, and ministry of Jesus and His disciples – “from home to home” fellowships of fellowship, Bible, and miracles.

(Acts 17:11: Please learn to do your own Bible studies like this one – here.)

Homes of Discipleship, Miracles, and Outreach inspiration: Copy the life, words, and ministry of Jesus and His disciples in the Bible – a “Shape of Revival” – a biblical idea and structure for “from home to home” fellowships displaying the fullness of Christ. All led by the inspiration and leading of the Holy Spirit (and as much as possible broadcast to other homes on video via social media).

Scriptures

He (1) appointed twelve (2) willing people that (3) they might be with him and (4) that he might send them out (5) to preach and (6) to have authority to drive out demons.

Mark 3:13-15

Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits. These were his instructions: “Take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. Wear sandals but not an extra shirt. Whenever you (find the person of peace (Matthew 10:11; Luke 10:5-9)) enter a home, stay there until you leave that town. And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” They went out and preached that people should repent. They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

Mark 6:7-13

More Scriptures to love-obey: Matthew 10:1-42, Luke 9:1-6, Luke 10:1-24, Acts chapters 2–6

Suggested Schedule

After work – from when people can come, bringing kids & first buying something “light” to eat

In the home to believers and people of peace (as led by the Holy Spirit) – last 2 hours

Relational Maturity, fruit of the Spirit – not flesh, and miracle ministry training and doing. Demonstration in the home. Training in and practicing: Personal Secret Place Prayer / Intercession. Share your story. Repentance. Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Baptism in water. Salvation. Prophecy. Tongues. Healing. Deliverance. Raising the Dead. Finding the Person of Peace. Read and do.

“Outreach” outside the home to people of peace (as led by the Holy Spirit) – also last 2 hours

Also – there is freedom to do literally what the Holy Spirit leads: “Anywhere” in groups of 2 or 3 or other places like: In the home. At someone else’s home. In a neighbor’s home. Colleagues, family, or neighbors, or school goers are invited from there to come and get prayer in the home.

Or people go out to talk with people in cafés. Some go from home to home / door to door. Some go to a restaurant. Others to a park or the walking streets to find the person of peace, to heal the sick, cast out demons, prophesy, lead people to faith etc.

Could also be going to a big store to buy something – but also approach people and offer prayer as part of shopping. Some drive, some bike, some walk. Purpose: To “Go and do it.” – as Jesus still says. Some people might even, for a season, do this 24/7 for “a living”.

Foundations – For Further Deeper Study

Why do from home to home (Acts 2:42-47) groups like this? Is it Biblical to go for this?

… and this is not against – but supportive of and for “the weekly larger gathering” (synagogues, Solomon’s Colonnade in the temple, School of Tyrannus etc. – see the definition of that here) and it is not a new church but here to equip anyone to do this and to train others to then do this where they are.

Theological Foundations, Background, Reasons, Goals, And Purposes

  • Intimacy with the Father – Friendship with God (Romans 8). Character, Fruit, and Gifts of the Holy Spirit in life and practice. In the passionate love of the Father – and from there in willing holiness – for He loved us first. The orphan spirit and attitude torn away.
    • Stop! Everything remains, starts, and ends in a healthy individual number 1.
  • Unity, maturity, health of all believers, in patience, love, and humility (Ephesians 4).
  • True, healthy, continual, sustainable, Biblical revival (not fairy-tale dreams – but actual personal responsibility, working hard by grace alone, learning, growing, obedience to the lifestyle, teachings, and knowing the suffering of Jesus – only because God loves us first).
  • All becoming mature parents – who parent new kids in the faith who parent new, who…
  • All have great experience with, feel at home in (Luke 10) and are able to teach others how to (2 Timothy 2:1-3): seek the Father truly intimately, raise the dead, heal the sick, cast out demons, find the person of peace and lead them to faith, share and teach, hear from God and prophesy, see people filled with the Holy Spirit, baptize people in water and grow in living according to all the beautiful loving relational rules of Jesus.
  • That all become all that God has called them to be and do (Psalm 139:16).
  • The fullness of Jesus Christ represented. Jesus did this. The early church in Acts did this. It represents a balance of His life and ministry (Luke 13:32).
  • The 5-fold represented and all trained by all 5 to do 5-fold fullness ministry. They serve & train all to do all they are and have. They’re not unobtainable superstars (Ephesians 4:11-13).
  • Hear and do (both) – in all things (John 14:15, James 1:22, Luke 11:28).
  • Both repentance, inner healing, deliverance as part of fullness of Christ-like healthy discipleship – not just one or the other. Jesus commanded repentance in love to love, truth, and holiness (Matthew 4:17) and did inner healing and deliverance (Mark 1:39).
  • The Great Commandment (Mark 12:28-31) and The Great Commission fulfilled (Matthew 28:18-20).
  • All gifts of the Spirit in action in all people – all taught and demonstrated and all helped to teach and demonstrate themselves.
  • The Ecclesia – being the Ecclesia to each other and the world – not one or the other.
  • Communion and Baptism happen where it can and should also happen (Acts).
  • From Home to Home – in large gatherings and all other places (streets, neighbors, shops, schools, workplaces, family parties, wherever, whenever etc. etc. etc.) (Acts 2:42-47).
  • Matthew 10 and Luke 10 & all of the New Testament in both hearing and doing.
  • These images in practice, demonstration, and action: Family. Beloved Bride. Gardener. Kings / Queens. Kids. Parents. Temple. Professional Sports People. Army of love soldiers.
  • Be disciples, who make disciples, who make disciples, who… etc. (2 Timothy 2:2)
  • Character, holiness, personality of love, outlived loving family relationships (Philippians 1:27-29).
  • All trained to host and lead – if they are willing and able – multiplying these HDMOs.

Q&A

What could happen in the 2 hours of ministry in the home or outside to “people of peace”?

The first times the group meets

  • Lead people to repentance and faith in the goodness of God (always the foundation).
  • If all are not yet filled with the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues – help them do that.
  • If all speak in tongues – ask them to pray out loud in tongues for 5 minutes and then to say what they started thinking of – what they felt God was saying to them during that time. We did that the very first time that we did it – and it was strong and powerful – God spoke to people and through people.

As time goes

  • Give over the responsibility of more and more of the elements of the evening to others.
  • Idea: Have the men pray together and the women pray together during the 2 hours of ministry. Have people pray for each other 2-2 or 3-3 (not men with women alone).
  • Take time to demonstrate with role-plays how to approach someone to heal them in the name of Jesus.
  • Option: Set times to pray for people for inner healing and deliverance at other times in the week.
  • In the meeting: Ask people to fill out the deliverance form and take time to pray for them – demonstrating how to do deliverance in front of them.
  • Etc. up until many are well equipped to prophesy, heal the sick, cast out demons, lead people to faith finding the person of peace, raise the dead, and fill people with the Holy Spirit. Then gradually you begin to go out 2 & 2 / invite people home / invite yourself to people’s homes etc.
  • Then train people to lead groups like this from their homes.

What About Children?

  • People with kids where both parents are Christians, and they can bring them in a car can do what my wife and I did. Children and their parents are always welcome at HDMO. If there is too much disturbance for the meeting to function, find good, loving solutions for all by the leading of the Holy Spirit (some solutions that we have seen work):
    • Preferable if possible: Bring the kids and they can be there up until 10 min. before the ministry time and then be put into small portable beds – then carry them sleeping to the car and go home as the ministry time ends (we did that when our kids were young).
    • Or: One can go to the meeting – the other can stay at home (and join as much as possible via Zoom – when the kids are put to bed). They take turns coming to the meeting.
    • Or: Kids can participate and play as they will and can until sleeping time – and then all from that family can go home at sleeping time.
  • If you are single parents
    • Come as much as you can physically, also with kids / join via Zoom as much as possible / listen to / watch the recording of the meetings at another time.

Leadership Structure and Training

Personal qualifications

For those who lead an HDMO, these are some suggested minimum requirements (Word doc).

Training of the leaders of an HDMO

This is individual – but relationship, demonstration, discipleship, sparring, sending, etc. must be present:

  • They should go through the “normal supernatural discipleship” training courses via the written and video training provided through ActionChristianity.com.
  • They should attend monthly Sunday morning training and one-on-one mentoring sessions facilitated and served by 5-fold ministry team members.
  • They should receive other leaders and 5-fold ministry gifts as well as their own and the apprentices of others to come and lead their meetings and serve, teach, train, and demonstrate the life, power, words, and character of Jesus.
  • They should continually sow into others and let others lead in teaching, breaking bread, coordinating the meetings and members, learn to flow in the Holy Spirit, lead in the ministry of commands of discipling, and doing deliverance, prophecy, healing, etc. and begin to take healthy responsibility for giving who they are – and thereby discipling other believers.

Weekly and Yearly Larger Gatherings of Many HDMOs

The bigger gatherings of saints should support in the teaching and demonstration of the power of the Kingdom. The even bigger yearly camps should do the same. A suggested structure of these can be seen here (Word doc).

How the 5-Fold Fits Into This

5-fold ministry gifts should be brought in to teach and demonstrate the life and power of the kingdom and to train people to do what they do and give what they are. For some thoughts about how that can look, see here (Word doc) and this YouTube playlist.

Please download, change, expand, upgrade, delete in this as you grow and learn – live it and share it with others. We need to move closer to the fullness of Christ, the fullness of the Word, the fullness of the Spirit – with faith in action.
