How do you keep growing as a Christian and never lose your first love? It starts with your continual input – you become what you fill yourself with.

(Acts 17:11: Please learn to do your own Bible studies like this one – here.)

Come meet my HERO – and my heroes. Learn, and bear personal fruit both now and consistently over a lifetime. How do you keep burning, growing, and never lose your first love for God?

What Is Your Input?

Very simply put: What is your input? Do you personally proactively pursue that input? You become what you eat and drink.

What you choose to fill yourself with – what you set up before yourself as a goal and input – you become that.

One of my main “secrets” to growth both in character and moving in the power of God and bearing much fruit for eternity is that I continue to seek challenging teaching that depicts the fullness of Jesus – the fullness of the breadth of the 5-fold ministry gifts.

I seek out input from prophets – to grow and practice what they say. I do the same with apostles, evangelists, shepherds, and teachers. I on purpose choose to listen to people who live out and bear much fruit in both character and power – and I imitate their faith.

The Bible says “mimic” the behavior of Jesus first and then our leaders in the faith who bear much fruit (Hebrews 13:7-8, 2 Thessalonians 3:7-9, 1 Corinthians 11:1, Hebrews 6:12, 1 Thessalonians 2:14, 1 Peter 3:13, 1 Corinthians 4:15-18). Jesus, of course, in so many places says: “Follow me. Obey me. Lay down your life for me like I do for you – for I laid down my life to serve you.”

Our first input to which we compare everyone and everything – ourselves first – is the Bible – especially the 4 stories of the life of Jesus, for He is our Master and the Only fully perfect One, and then Acts of the disciples and the Holy Spirit. Then I also find modern-day examples of people who walk in the same and learn from them.

So – what is your input? You have full responsibility to choose! Do you continually fill your ears and eyes and actions with teaching and actions that stretch you and that copy Jesus – all the way to both the character and supernatural level of Jesus and His followers? If not – repent, change, and do it.

Why I Am Seeing Fruit Again

I have thought about myself and why I am now again seeing miracles, fruit, and growth, and making disciples – bearing much fruit to the glory of the Father. Also how do I keep my path clean and live holy and make wise long-term decisions?

This was going on in me even before I allowed the eternal truth of the love of Jesus to be real to me – I might not even realize myself how important this is. Jesus said: “Seek – and keep seeking till you find, and you will find.

Knock and keep on knocking till the door is opened.

Ask and keep on asking till you get.” That has, as a Christian, led me to always choose to listen to challenging, radical, fruit-bearing followers of Jesus (biblical fruit of salvations, discipleship, good, loving, holy character, and the power of the Holy Spirit). And they HAVE challenged me!

Binge-listening to those stories and challenging yourself to do what it takes to see those things happening – has led me to see those things happen.

The God I see

If this point below is not happening – move no further than getting that fixed. Read this and practice it:

The Jesus I was saved by – who is the Jesus of the Bible, was described like this: He knows and sees ALL your sin, all your shame, all your selfishness, and the consequences of all that – forever. He knows it – and hates the sin.

Yet to Him, He is still 100% extreme LOVE, LIGHT, FORGIVENESS, RESTORATION – and deeply simply longs for friendship. He looks at you – and there is NO condemnation. NO rejection. NO hate for you. He is LOVE. He is FRIEND! Now – will you accept that?

Will you live in that? For it is eternally true, good, and unshakably established forever. The cross proves this.

Know that you know that you know you are ONLY based on this 100% truth: God, He is good, and I can trust Him. He loved you first and this is eternally proven – through the cross, blood, obedience, suffering, as the only innocent adult for the guilty (100% judged with justice).

This total, extreme, biggest sacrifice of love from the Father now drives us in love, through love, through peace, through that reality – to be willing to give up everything and anything to God. (Read the entire Old and New Testament – but especially the Gospels, Galatians, Romans, and Hebrews).

The reason for our existence, the meaning of life, why God created us – is this: friendship! Let’s hang out with the Father – enjoy Him and let Him enjoy us. We hang out with Jesus, have fun, enjoy the love of the amazing Brother. The sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit – who is so full of a servant’s loving heart – and just wants to show us Jesus and the Father.

On that basis: spending quality time one-on-one with the Father – often

Read some ideas from the Bible on how to do that effectively here: Daddyo Time – My Story of Quality Time With God.

So, first, have the deep theological conviction that God is love (1 John 4:8) and knows what is best for me (Romans 2:4, Jeremiah 29:11-14) – therefore I need to make every effort to find out what His will is (2 Peter 1:10, Psalm 139:16) – so I can do what is best for me in His perspective.

I call this “selfish Christianity” and it is even in the Bible (love God, and others as you love yourself – Mark 12:29-31).

Now that you know that you know that the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit love you and always have only the best for you in their heart, yes, that they are eternally wholeheartedly for you:

Now you can “retaliate” – you can “pay them back” positively, proactively, out of His extreme complete undiluted perfect radical love – He started it: He LOVED you – LOVED me – NOW – ETERNALLY – let’s love Him right back – all in, heart, soul, mind, and body.

Three in One

Three in One. One true eternal God – three Persons. So united in love – that they are One. Yet three distinct persons. The Trinity! They are love! They are IN love with you! They are the Friend of Friends, your best Friend, my best Friend.

They know true love – and truth and justice and light and joy and peace and freedom. The Trinity invites us into their mutual lovefest!

To follow them – to obey their commands fully will get more and more of that love, goodness, and greatness into your life – Now GO get that friendship 100% sorted 🙂 (Deuteronomy 7:12-13, Bible verses on obedience).

How important is this foundation?

Before I became a Christian, I did not see that God loved me first. Then, after 10 years as a Christian who was also free from porn, I had 18 years where I believed God was only half-heartedly for me – and I watched porn again, while also serving in church. But I was blind to what had really happened deep in my thinking and emotions.

Then I repented of worshiping a partly “false god”, partly idolatry, to coming into re-accepting the fullness and wholehearted love of God for me – and I was then again free from obedience to the demons of rejection, self-pity, idolatry, and self-satisfying sexual impurity. Read the full story here.

The Smartest Choice I Have Ever Made

Repent into the goodness of God. To stop judging God guilty. To set God above all else. To surrender all. To make Him absolute Lord – due to His absolute love for me in spite of my sinful state. To therefore find His will in His Word and do it – with all that is within me.

And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6

Therefore, on This Solid Ground, I Seek To:

  • Have consistent, “often,” heart-to-heart, raw, intimate quality time in the secret place with the Father (Matthew 6:6)
  • Cultivate my “first love”. Ensure you have a fire, a passion, a zeal, a hunger, a deep thirst for everything God has for you – all based on the fire, passion, zeal of God in love for you. We are talking God, the meaning of life, the purpose and destiny for all of us here!!
  • To seek understanding, insight, and wisdom from the Word of God before making major decisions and even to talk about any subject. Be slow to speak – quick to listen to God (James 1:19).
  • My people perish because of lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). So passionately and wholeheartedly – as the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit loves you wholeheartedly – seek knowledge about the truth of God in the Bible. And do what you read.
  • Above all else seek understanding (Proverbs 4:7). So passionately and wholeheartedly – as the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit loves you wholeheartedly – seek understanding about the truth of God in the Bible. And do what you read.
  • Lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-7) – seek Him & His Word for the best way.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Proverbs 3:5-8

Binge-listen, read – and practice it

  • Passionately listen to and read the Bible (the YouVersion App and website are excellent for this).
  • Proactively find and read and listen to books and sermons from people who bear much fruit that looks like salvations, miracles, holiness, wisdom, humility, unity, honor – constantly – for it refills our fire to understand and then do something about it. And what does the Word of God say: Faith comes by hearing – and hearing / seeing / experiencing – by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Here are some of the ones that inspire me (click here) – please binge-listen – binge watch. Fill yourself constantly. What you fill yourself with – will come out of you – you will become that.

Binging the right input in the right way

My list of people that I presently listen to – but whom:

  • I do not worship.
  • I have critical questions for – for all are lacking compared to Jesus – and we need to talk openly about those lacks and be aware of them – even though we do not look cool when we do – for we are now not perfect…
  • I put the words, actions, and commands of Jesus first, before them.
  • I love and honor ministers in Christ for the good they do – for I see them as fruit-bearing brothers and sisters in Christ
  • I get all the Scriptures about honor and judging well out of them.
  • It’s not always “either” this “or” that – as many preachers like to say – but it is this first, then that, then that.

Keep learning

  • Fullness of the fivefold: Listen to and follow and learn from the fullness of the 5-fold ministry giftings who are all about equipping the saints – not just to Bible teachers or prophets, or evangelists or pastors or apostles.
  • Find the fruit-bearers and walk with them: Find people who are truly on fire and bear much Biblical fruit – and listen to them – hear them, walk with them, and do what they do – with the Bible, Jesus, and Acts as the foundation. This is probably one of my biggest secrets to why I keep on being on fire and keep on growing and have ended up in a place where I bear much real Biblical fruit in terms of deliverance, healings, salvations, prophecies, baptism in water, making real disciples etc.
  • Willingness not to be afraid of the opinions of people. Fear of man is one of the biggest traps possible. See my writing about the terrible death trap and snare of the fear of man here.
  • Humility, endurance, and patience in suffering – not making decisions until the will of God has been clarified. Study to show yourself approved – a worker unto God (2 Timothy 2:15). Be like the noble Bereans (Acts 17:11), who searched the Scriptures to see what was true. Please use the principles found here: A Bible Study About Correct Bible Study.
  • If there is something, you do not understand – that is OK. Don’t make big fast decisions to look cool and strong. But say: “I don’t know fully. But I will work and study to find out the best possible healthy, truth-filled, Word of God = Bible based answer.” Be slow to speak. Quick to listen and learn.
  • If you know you need a better grasp of humility, I strongly recommend the book The Final Quest by Rick Joyner.
  • First, be a humble, hard-working disciple. In that process you will learn to hear from Heaven – both directly for yourself and you will get healthy input from prophets & prophetic people and you will also find more specific and unique callings, tasks, gifts, and assignments. Keep obeying ALL that Jesus practiced – and commanded. Keep dying to self, with no fear of the opinions or actions of people. Keep humbly, brokenly, repenting into the fullness of His goodness and satisfaction with you – and obey then – with a willing heart.
  • Keep it simple. Read and do. Be a simple child who does not over-complicate things (Luke 11:28 & Luke 10:21). Neither over-simplify everything, and make quick superficial judgments (John 7:24). Use this simple Bible study method yourself and with other believers: Discovery Bible Study (DBS) Method.
  • Show up consistently. I consistently place myself in deep fellowship with other believers. Fellowship with healthy growing believers is as important as going to work. The Bible says: Do not forsake meeting with the saints (Hebrews 10:25). In the very first church they met daily from home to home and in the temple (Acts 2:42-47). Keep showing up. It was publicly and from home to home – the Acts 20:20 – vision.
  • I give away all I have for free (Matthew 10:8). I am responsible to teach others to be obedient to Love, which is all Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:18-20) – and to teach others how to do this obedient discipleship (2 Timothy 2:2). This is true for every disciple. We are to give it all away.

Stay humble – do not make a major decision before you know the will of God in that area

  • Actively wait in the Lord (Psalm 27:14): Seek Him with passion and fire.
  • Pray, and then listen, then write it down, then do it.
  • Study the Word of God about it.
  • Get set free from evil spirits (so they don’t come to you as a lying fake “holy spirit”). I recommend at least one full blown deliverance session for all Christians at least once a year.
  • Talk with good advisors who bear much fruit in the health and breadth of all that Jesus was, did, and said – including Matthew 10 and Luke 10.
  • Get insight from prophets of God – who hear accurately from Heaven. This should only confirm what you have already sensed yourself.

Keep asking, seeking, knocking

Keep asking, seeking, knocking – keep doing it till you get, find, and the door is opened. Seek – and keep seeking till you find! And the greatest GIFT you find is more of the Holy Spirit. This is what the Greek text says. It is your decision if you stop.

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

Luke 11:9
  • Go for the fullness of all fullnesses in Christ – some of which are: the intimate friendship with Father, Son, Holy Spirit, the Word, the Spirit, the character of holiness, the discipleship and multiplication, the fruit, the maturity, the calling – all fullnesses of the fullness of Christ.
  • The next generation: I will be gone one day – to watch you in the great movie hall of Heaven – to cheer you on. Others will take my place and my children and their children – and yours, spiritual and / or physical will take our places. I build for the next generations – you please do the same as well. I am not the only one with anything from God. God gives freely. Papa loves us with a passionate fire!
