This is my story of how quality time with God – one-on-one “Daddyo time” in the secret place – changed everything in my life, and how you can start too.

(Acts 17:11: Please learn to do your own Bible studies like this one – here.)

Daddyo Time – My Story – The Beginning

At the beginning of 2020, I began to take serious action on wanting to go deeper with God – also using the shift of a decade to personally transition somehow. Then my church, Hillsong Copenhagen, provided a personality test, and a weakness it exposed in me was the need to perform in front of people. The antidote to that weakness was – and is – to spend actual quality time one-on-one with the Father: Daddyo time.

Then Corona came, and I took it further as a shake-up – an opportunity to seek God more. I started to listen to what my church unfortunately defines negatively as “crazy prophets,” who strongly go for the supernatural. People who have been to Heaven and hell. People who have seen angels and demons. People who do effective deliverance. I knew – and know – that one of the focus areas of great prophets is to help people get really close to God: truly hearing His voice, developing a truly intimate relationship with Daddyo – as well as walking strongly in all things supernatural.

So I listened – and still listen – to those absolutely wonderful people, the prophets: especially a lady called Donna Rigney, and also a man called Kevin Zadai, as well as a very healthy deliverance minister called Rodney Hogue. I am inspired and challenged to get up earlier, to truly seek and hang out with Daddyo – as well as to do self-deliverance prayers. I want this: having Daddyo as Friend of friends, Dad of dads – not just the transactional, faraway, legal Justifier, the cold, plain Truth, the cold, distant substance of love, the Way to Heaven, and the Life. I am challenged to speak in tongues one-on-one, worship, pray, and write down anything I sense He speaks while in my one-on-one time – and more: to act more on Matthew 10 and Luke 10 – also through Torben Søndergaard of The Last Reformation.

That unexpectedly started to change everything in my life!! Suddenly I experienced God starting to reward me – even in public…

Donna Rigney – a strong, humble, prophetic lady

Rodney Hogue on deliverance – I prayed along with him on the various prayers he prays

Kevin Zadai – on intimacy with God, limitations, freedom, and much more

I also began to listen to Kevin Zadai on YouTube.

The Breakthrough

As I truly did this – pressing into saying, “OK God, You are right here, I am right here – let’s hang out” – I discovered that for many years, since some great disappointments with myself and my calling in God, I had held back from my Father God in the area of the deepest, open, heart-to-heart intimacy. Why? To punish God by holding myself back from giving Him that! I then understood this had turned into the terrible sin of self-pity, and a terrible picture of God as “one who takes where He has not given.”

This exposed the root of why I had not been able to break a deeply hated addiction to porn – because I had self-justified it, deep inside myself, out of self-pity. Oh, I looked ugly, stupid, lame, and sinful, and I had to own my own sin and take responsibility for it. This realization came out of my Daddyo time – and it has been one of my major breakthroughs of all time. I am back – and finally on track!! 🙂

Please see more about this giant breakthrough here.

This will always be THE healthiest thing you can do!! If this is not in place in your life, the foundation is off and the house will not be healthy. It must NEVER stop – friendship with God is the whole REASON for creation!

Why? From here you get your boldness to follow God – to act in and for God – against religion. Against tradition. Against FEAR OF MAN.

Jesus Often Got Up Early and Spent Quality Time With His Father

That evening, after sunset, people brought to Jesus all who were sick and those influenced by demons, and the whole town gathered at the door. And He healed many who were ill with various diseases and drove out many demons. But He would not allow the demons to speak, because they knew who He was. Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and slipped out to a solitary place to pray. Simon and his companions went to look for Him, and when they found Him, they said, “Everyone is looking for You!” But Jesus answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns so I can preach there as well, for that is why I have come.” So He went throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

Mark 1:32-39

We also see Peter praying alone on a rooftop in Acts – getting great revelation (Acts 10:9) – and Paul praying alone in Acts after he was blinded by Jesus because of his Pharisaic blindness (Acts 9:11).

The report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities. But he would often withdraw to desolate places and pray.

Luke 5:15-16

After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.

Matthew 14:23

And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Matthew 26:40-41

This Is for You

THIS IS FOR YOU – YOU – YOU!!! AS WELL!!! I have seen this totally transform the lives of others too – just as it has mine.

This is about actually – with quality, as a child – practicing one-on-one, heart-to-heart hang time with Daddyo. Jesus said that when we pray, we should do this:

“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’”

Matthew 6:5-13

How?

  • Get to bed earlier.
  • Literally: find a room or a solitary place.
  • Literally: go in.
  • Literally: close the door behind you.
  • Literally: hang out with God as with your very best friend.
  • Actually spend quality time – Jesus mentioned one hour at a time (but do it often and keep it real: relational and quality – not repeated sentences and routines; how would you feel if your friends did that to you?).
  • Write down all inspirations, thoughts, and ideas – during prayer and during a quiet listening time as part of it.
  • Maybe you will remember to call someone, contact someone, pray for and reach out to someone. Maybe you will get insights into the Word of God – the Bible. Maybe wisdom in certain situations. God will begin to speak. And God will begin to do things for you.
  • It might be really practical – like “remember this or that.”
  • Decide to do what the inspirations are about.
  • Actually focus on and build a quality friendship with Dad.
  • Do not accuse God of this, that, or the other – that grieves His heart, for He is not responsible for anything evil (evil comes from our own heart, from the devil, and from a fallen, broken, decaying world that has come under death and destruction because of sin).
  • Actually pray in tongues, worship, and pray – and then be silent and see what thoughts come to you. Write them down.
  • Actually do it “often” – whatever that means.
  • Hunger and thirst for more of God – to grow, to bear more true eternal fruit, to make full-blown disciples.

Bring

  • Your phone on flight mode with no notifications – but a timer is OK, as you have other things to do that day as well.
  • Only a notebook.
  • Only a Bible.
  • Only worship music – here is my present list of songs on my “time with Daddyo” playlist. I have downloaded these directly to my phone so I can play them while it is in flight mode.
  • Let nothing disturb you 😉 – but do not be religious (impossibly perfect) about it.

Some of My Unexpected Rewards in Public, According to Matthew 6

(“Openly” or “in public,” in some translations of Matthew 6:6.)

  • Our house sold – which we couldn’t do for 13 years.
  • A bad relationship with one of my kids restored – that child really loves and honors me now.
  • Debt paid off – which we had had for 16 years as well.
  • The biggest sale of my career – and not only that: the biggest product cyber sale in Danish history.
  • Amazing, on-fire people brought into my life: deliverers, evangelists, prophets, etc.
  • My kids getting closer to God, speaking boldly in tongues, prophesying, healing the sick, etc.
  • Breaking free from porn and from an extreme life of self-pity and wasted time!!!
  • Actually seeing disciples made – ACTUALLY!
  • Even “public reward” – being seen by the whole church on video.
  • People repenting from sin, physically healed, delivered from actual demons, saved, baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit – speaking in tongues, etc.
  • And people doing what I do, on repeat!

The Most Important Outcome of Persisting in This

I believe – and see some evidence – that I am growing (never perfect) in being like Jesus in this:

Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.”

John 5:19-20

So, in the morning, as you listen to your own thoughts during worship, praying in tongues, and being still before the Lord, you will begin to get ideas from Heaven for what to do that day and that season. I have literally experienced that. This is where you get your tasks and to-dos from Heaven. Then never leave that place of attentiveness and brokenness before the Lord throughout the day – and be led by the gentle, still, small voice and the images of the Holy Spirit during the day. Be on fire to do His will on earth.

This has truly been the most “fruitful for eternity” time of my life – ever!!
